Reiki is a Japanese holistic modality that has been re-awakened by Dr. Mikao Usui close to a century ago in 1922. It uses Universal Life Force energy to promote healing or maintain well-being through stress reduction and relaxation.  Being a safe, gentle, non-intrusive technique, it aids in balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of the person, mind, body and spirit if the person is open to receiving.  It can also aid in increasing self-awareness, personal growth and spiritual development.

A living being is in its most healthy, harmonic, natural state when the mind/body/spirit equation is balanced.  The stresses of daily life can bring about disruptions in this balance and can cause the individual to experience a range of physical, mental, emotional or spiritual challenges.  When consistently exposed to stress, the mind and body are negatively affected sometimes resulting in physical illness or mental distress.
 

Reiki practitioners tap into the Universal Life Force energy acting only as conduits to channel healing energies to those seeking relief.  The energy naturally flows to where it is needed the most.  People, animals, plants, and even situations, can receive these energies in an attempt to clear the energy blockages that may be causing an issue.  Ultimately, the goal is to restore the mind/body/spirit to its harmonious state.  When homeostasis, or internal balance occurs, it can provide the body a baseline to start self-healing.
 

Reiki is a complementary therapy and when combined with other medical and healing practices, it can have a powerful impact. It has the potential to go to deeper levels beyond a physical ailment to clear blocks and give relief to the causes that may have initiated the ailment’s manifestation if the person is open to receiving the energies.
